Agave americana (syn. Agave gracilispina, Agave zonata, Agave subzonata, Agave melliflua, Agave rasconensis, Agave variegata, Agave communis, Agave ingens) is a big species of Agave. It can reach a height of about two meters and a width of over three meters. The color of Agave americana leaves is depending on habitat. It could be light grey to green. These succulents are found in the eastern regions of Mexico.
Culture
Agave americana needs a good watering during the growing period. This succulent likes fertile soil with high drainage. Stagnant water can lead to root rot. Keep this agave completely dry in winter where temperatures must stay above freezing.
