Aztekium is native Nuevo Leσn. The plant body resembles certain Aztec sculptures. The Aztekium family consists of two species: Aztekium hintonii and Aztekium ritteri. The rare Aztekium is found at gypsum type of rocks far out of reach of human hands. Both Aztekium species grow extremely slow and are raised from seed. Older species are very desirable.
