Raising Cacti & Succulents from Seed

Albino Lophophora williamsii cactus

Albino (yellow) forms of Lophophora williamsii are very rare. Albino Peyote cactus plants have to be grafted. They are not able to perform photosynthesis because of the lack of chlorophyll in their cell layers. I have germinated around hundreds of thousends Lophophora seeds in the past and only had few of these specimens. The grafting (I always use Selenicereus as stock) needs very proper timing. If you graft too early the seedling might not stick to the stock and/or dry. If you want to graft too late the seedling might allready have died because the mentioned lack of chlorophyll these cacti have. Our albino Lophophora williamsii cactus plants are very well grafted on a firmly rooted Selenicereus stock. Water carefully since Selenicereus is a epyphytic cactus. It needs a fertile and loose
