Moringa is known as one of the most nutritious plants in the world. Moringa ovalifolia is native to Namibia where it ranges out from Kaokoveld to the mountains of Keetmanshoop and even further north . These interesting trees grows in dry regions, woodlands or savannah. Plant Moringa ovalifolia in a good draining, mineral soil.
Propagation is usually done by seeds. Plant the seeds in the mineral soil as described above and cover them with 1-2 cm of fine grit. To speed up germination you could soak the seeds for 24h in water. To prevent fungus growth the seeds can be treated with a fungicide but this is not a necessity. Moringa ovalifolia seeds germinate well and the seedlings grow fast when you keep them warm. During the resting period (winter) these plants should be kept rather dry. Be aware of low temperatures because Moringa trees are not hardy.
