Obregonia denegrii details
Obregonia denegrii (syn. Ariocarpus denegrii, Strombocactus denegrii), also called Artichoke cactus is native to the states of Ciudad Victoria and Tamaulipas (Mexico). It is found between gravel and small rocks where it grows as a single stemmed (solitary) cactus. Obregonia denegrii can reach a diameter of approximately 10 cm. Its flowers are white and appear in summer.
Artichoke Cactus is propagated from seeds which germinate and grow best in a mineral soil. It is a rather slow growing species and it can take upto 5 years to get a plant of 2-3 cm. Be careful with overwatering and keep Obregonia denegrii cacti dry in winter. Give them bright light.
