Carnegiea (Saguaro) plants

The famous Saguaro cactus from the Arizona desert. Carnegiea gigantea is a beautiful and giant tree-like cactus with a dark-green coloration. They can get upto 13 meters tall. Saguaro cacti have 12-24 ribs with areoles 2 cm apart. From the areoles 11 or more brownish to grey radial spines appear. The spines are aound 2 cm in length. Flowers are nocturnal and appear in early summer. Carnegiea gigantea is native to USA (Arizona, California) and Mexico (Sonora). They can be cultivated in regular cactus soil and need a minimum temperature of approximately 10 °C. Also check our Carnegiea (Saguaro) seeds.
