Pygmaeocereus (syn. Arthrocereus) is a cactus group with small globular plants. There are 4 known species native to Brazil and southern Peru. One of the species is Pygmaeocereus bieblii which is rare. The plant has nice white flowers on an elongated stem. Pygmaeocereus needs a porous mineral cactus soil and bright light to grow. Minimum temperatures should be kept around 10-12 °C in winter. Propagation is done through seeds. Seedlings or young plants can be grafted on Pereskiopsis or Trichocereus to speed up growth.
