De belangrijkste soorten die momenteel erkend worden zijn Lophophora diffusa, Lophophora fricii en Lophophora williamsii (Peyote). De planten komen van oorsprong uit Mexico en zuidelijke delen van de USA.\r\nHet kweken van Lophophora soorten\r\nLophophora cactussen hebben een minerale grond nodig om in te groeien. Hierbij is een optimale drainage en een basische pH belangrijk. Wij verkopen een speciale grond mix waarin Lophophora zeer goed groeit. Deze cactussen hebben veel licht en vooral warmte nodig om goed te groeien en te bloeien. Geef zaailingen en jonge planten wat schaduw tegen felle zon. Jonge planten hebben ook wat vaker water nodig dan oudere planten. Je kan lophophora het beste overwinteren bij een temperatuur van 5-10 \u00b0C.
