Escobaria (syn. Coryphanta, Mammillaria) are rather small to very small cacti. Normally they start sprouting at a later age. Escobaria cactus plants can built nice groups. Their flowers are small. Species belonging to the Escobaria cactus family are native to regions in the USA (West Texas, South New Mexico) and Mexico (from Chihuahua to Tamaulipas and Zacatecas.). Cultivation is done one a mineral based soil. Keep Escobaria dry in winter at a minimum temperature around 10 °C.
