This Crassula ovata (syn. Crassula portulacea), or Jade Plant, has a very nice and fine red rim on her leaves. It requires a regular cactus soil and bright light to grow. Crassula ovata can be propagated easily by stem cuttings or leaf cuttings. You need to cut off the stem or leaf with a clean knive and then let the wound dry for a week or 2. Then place the cutting in dry cactus soil to root. The plants are sensitive to mealy bugs but usually no other diseases occur. Keep dry in winter. It can tolerate temperatures of -1 °C for a short time.
