Heliocereus (syn. Cereus, Cactus) are sometimes erect but usually trailing species. Most common is Heliocereus speciosus and different hybrid forms of this species. The plants are native to Central Mexico and Guatemala. They grow fine in a normal cactus soil and need some shade. The minimum temperature in winter should be kept around 13 °C. Propagation is done from seeds and cuttings.
